Disney World 2019

We just returned from our 10 day trip to Florida and Disney World, so I had to blog some images and thoughts about our time in sunny Florida together.

I have been going down to Florida ever since I was a little girl and we moved up to Virginia. We would visit family, go to the beach, and go to Disney. Now, I am so grateful to do the same with my family and create these memories!

We decided to go in October, when it wouldn’t be too hot (it was still hot, but not 100 degrees!) I’ve always wanted to see Magic Kingdom all decorated for fall, and go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! So off we went, we drove south down 95, yes we drove all the way, some people think we are crazy but most of the time we drive!

We stayed at Disney’s Caribbean beach resort, and loved it! I am adding photos from my iPhone, so image quality isn’t the best. I thought about taking my real “fancy” camera but decided it wasn’t worth the stress of breaking it and keeping up with it along with the kids. Sometimes making memories is more important than documenting them, something I am still learning as a mom and photographer!

Our first park day was at Hollywood Studios! Our highlights included riding Tower of Terror, one of our favorite rides ever, Toy Story land, the Frozen show and Lightning McQueen’s racing academy!

Another highlight was snaping this image below. My photographer heart was so happy when this cast member walked out with a huge bunch of balloons and we were able to use them for a photo! It was really a magical moment, and I can’t wait to frame this one!

I don’t normally get pictures of just me, but I had to here, since I shoot Nikon! We were on our way out and I saw the darkroom, where fabulous is always in focus, by Nikon, so it was worth the stop!

The next day started with breakfast at Cinderella’s castle! We have never been able to get reservations here, so this was extra special. We met all the princesses! The rest of the day in Magic Kingdom was a busy one.

Love our tradition of dole whip floats while watching the parade. You can see my matching dole whip magic band, I am serious about my dole whip!

The next day was brunch at Chef Mickey’s before the Halloween party! Lots of characters and Mickey and Minnie waffles!

I love this picture! All of us coordinated to be Cinderella characters for the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom. This was definitely one of my favorite things we did on our trip. Chloe managed to stay awake till midnight and ride Haunted Mansion as we closed down the park.

Another highlight was Legoland! I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure about spending the day here, since I love Disney so much, but after watching the Lego movie the kids really wanted to come. We had a blast! The park was practically empty and the waterpark was so fun! Chloe’s favorite ride was Uni Kitty disco drop! Luke’s favorite was the dragon ride!

The last few days we spent with family in south Florida doing the beach, boat and swimming! It was nice to slow down a little after the busyness of Disney!

Overall, I am so grateful we got to do this trip. It was a lot of planning, and saving and time put into it, but so worth it! Disney will always have a special place in my heart, and experiencing it with so many I love made it the best week ever.
