I thought some sort of recap was in order for 2017! This has been such a good year. It was definitely a year of growth for me. To be honest a year ago if you had told me I would be doing this I would have loved to believe you, but probably wouldn’t have. I would think about what I would do when both kids went to school and I never thought this would be it! But God is so good, and He definitely made a way for this little business of mine to be possible. I’m so thankful!
Back in June I was on the fence about all this. I was fearful of putting myself out there. When I found out I won Lewis Ginter’s Million Bloom contest it was a turning point for me. You can read more about that here. I had been praying about what to do, and God really used this as a way to confirm this was the path he had for me! At the end of July I filled my LLC, and became official. This was so empowering! I decided to go all in and truly commit by doing this, and I’m so glad I took the step to do that.
The fall was so busy! I had the honor to capture so many wonderful families. I really learned a lot about managing work and family. Fall is always my favorite time of year, and being a photographer just made it even better. I was able to upgrade my camera, my first goal I had for this business.
Another favorite was being able to see so many of my images on Christmas cards this year! It was such a joy to receive them, but to be apart of capturing those sweet families was such an honor. I know I say that a lot, but it’s so true and something I will never take for granted. I look back on images of my family from when we invested in a professional photographer and I cherish them, especially as the years go by. To know that I was able to give that to someone else is why I love doing this so much!
So that was 2017! Thankful is a word that keeps coming to mind. I look towards 2018 with such anticipation for what will come! I can’t wait to continue to serve families, grow as a photographer and do what I love.
I’ll end with saying that choosing pictures for this post was so hard! So many beautiful images that I love. I wish I could post all my favorites but this post would be a mile long then. So here’s to a great 2017!
